We have always developed our studio monitors to balance accuracy and musicality whilst ensuring that the speaker is not adding any sort of “hype” and is providing a pure reference to the listener. For almost forty years our speakers have been tools that have helped the incredible musicians, producers and mix engineers create the music that has become the soundtrack to our lives. Our focus has, and always will be to studio monitoring, but we have become very aware of a growing number of customers who have been wanting to enjoy the honesty of Quested speakers within the home environment. For this reason, we have taken an approach to be unapologetically simple and bring some of our monitors to the home environment.
Olympians
For those of you that have read our heritage page you will be aware that our founder started his professional career at Olympic Studio recording Led Zepplin’s debut album along with recording sessions for the Rolling Stones. The first of our products to be tailored for the home will be the OLY-108 and the OLY-208. Both speaker designs can boast credentials of having helped craft some of the most enjoyable and exciting music of the last thirty-five years. The OLY-108 and the OLY-208 provide those wishing to hear and enjoy the music as it was made, with speakers they can truly trust.
Home Cinema
From the studio to the screen
After an extensive R&D period a tailored range of residential cinema speakers has been developed. Unlike our studio monitors this range of products is based on ribbon and AMT high frequency drivers. A studio monitors job of being an accurate reference for a mix engineer to balance and make critical mix decisions is a very different demand to that of the excitement of a film soundtrack. Dialogue and evermore powerful sound effect need speakers that will allow the dialogue to cut through and to offer the space to let the sound effects breathe. A core family of products is available based on 8” and 10” LF driver formats, and again custom options can be designed and configured to suit any client’s needs.
